Restraint Couplings

AWIS Mains: RESTRAINT COUPLINGS

DN100-DN300

  • No blocking required
  • Restraint in any condition
  • Ideal for combined trenches
  • PN 16 Rated

Rapid/Cascade ‘Pipe Restraint Couplings’ are a quick and easy way of restraining pipes and fittings used in the water systems, eliminating the need for ‘blocking’. They are also designed to fit over the ‘Variable Gibault’ style of fittings that are now commonly used. This will stop the Gibault ‘walking down’ the pipe.

MATERIAL SPECIFICATION & STANDARDS

Rapid/Cascade Pipe Restraint Couplings, are designed and manufactured under Quality Management System, certificate to ISO9001:1994.

  • Serrated Rings: Ductile iron, 65-45-12.
  • Bolts, Nuts and Washers: High Tensile 8.8MPa.
  • Coating- Serrated Rings: Tar Dipped
  • Coating- Bolts, Nuts and Washers: Hot Dipped Galvanized.
  • Working Pressure: 1.6MPa. Test Pressure: 2.4MPa

Pipe Restraint Coupling
Rapid/Cascade ‘Pipe Restraint Couplings’ are a quick and easy way of restraining pipes and fittings used in the water systems, eliminating the need for ‘blocking’. They are also designed to fit over the ‘Variable Gibault’ style of fittings that are now commonly used. This will stop the Gibault ‘walking down’ the pipe.
The Restraint Couplings incorporate a split design with serrated teeth machined into the fittings that engage the pipe wall. With just under 360 degrees of contact area, this provides high performance and superior pipe support.
The serrations are machined to stop the pipe moving in both directions. This eliminates any chance of creating a ‘sawing’ effect on the pipe wall when the pipes are moving due to change in internal pressure, ground movement etc.
The fittings have recessed areas for the side bolts, so only the nuts need tightening. With the tapered inside area on the castings, this combination makes the Restraint Couplings easy to install onto the pipe.
The Restraints Couplings have been designed so full pipe deflection can still be achieved, and they can be installed during or after installation of the pipes, and or, fittings.
They come in a range of DN sizes to suit the different OD pipe sizes. DICL, PVC series one & two, PE. etc.
